SIUE Cheer and Dance Team
Who Are We?
The Southern Illinois University Edwardsville
(SIUE) Cheer and Dance Team is a Division I Spirit Squad comprised
of two components: cheer/stunt athletes and technically-trained
dancers. The two teams are committed to working together to promote
SIUE Athletics by creating a cooperative spirit between the teams,
the student body, and the athletics community. Both components are
administered through the SIUE Intercollegiate Athletics Department.
Our goal is to support Cougar Athletics, enhance game excitement,
and encourage crowd involvement. The team is coached by
Michelle Deets, and assisted by Casey Fields and Emily
Gaehle.

SIUE Cheer and Dance Team is available to provide promotional,
marketing and performance support at any event! To book a team
appearance or request Eddie the Mascot at your event, please
contact Head Coach Michelle Deets at mdeets@highlandcusd5.org. Please direct all cheer/dance
inquiries to Coach Deets as well.
