Now the Associate Athletics Director for Internal Affairs, Bryan
Belt has served his alma mater in a number of capacities. Belt has
previously been the head coach of the men's and women's tennis
programs as well as an assistant softball coach at SIUE. His duties
as Associate Athletics Director include budget planning, financial
aid for student-athletes and an active role in the athletic
department's future initiatives. Belt oversees the day-to-day
financial operations, as well as the department's concessions
operations. Belt also oversee all areas of event operations
including sports information. Belt graduated from SIUE in 1993 with
a bachelor degrees in recreation and accounting and worked 12
seasons as an assistant coach for the softball program. He was in
charge of scouting opponents and worked as an important influence
in recruiting. In the 2005-06 season Belt took over the men's and
women's tennis programs. The men's team posted an 18-22 record
while the women's team posted a team record of 11-20. The 2006-07
SIUE men's team posted an upset victory in the quarterfinal round
of the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament, boosting the
University's standing in the All-Sports Trophy race. Belt also
previously worked as the director of operations for the St. Louis
Ambush, a local professional soccer franchise, from 1994 to 1996.
The Ambush were the 1995 National Professional Soccer League (NPSL)
champions. He spent three years in the administrative accounting
department at SIUE before moving into his role as the Assistant AD.
He and his wife, Melanie, have three children, Bradford, Chandler
and Patrick. They reside in Smithton.
