Danielle Kot joined Derek Burton’s staff in 2012. Kot assists the women’s soccer team in all facets of the program as a graduate assistant coach.

She comes to SIUE after spending the 2011 season as the girls' junior varsity Head Coach at Centennial High School in Champaign. She also worked as a team administrator for the Region II Olympic Development Program in DeKalb. While there, she assisted in organizing camp including completing paperwork, organizing team evaluations, registration, rosters, and creation of daily schedules.

As a player, Kot was a four-year starter at the University of Illinois from 2007-2010. She served as the Illini team captain in 2009 and 2010, and the team made three NCAA Tournament appearances during her time. She was a member of the Big Ten All-Freshman Team in 2007 and an All-Big Ten pick in 2008. She was voted as the Illini’s Most Valuable Player and Defensive MVP in 2009 and again in 2010.

Kot, a native of Brookfield, Wis., received her bachelor’s degree from Illinois in 2011. She is pursuing a master’s degree in exercise and sport behavior from SIUE.
