Cougars Fall to Florida Gulf Coast

FT. MYERS, Fla. - Rachel Webb was the lone winner Wednesday as SIUE women's tennis dropped a 6-1 decision at Florida Gulf Coast.

Webb defeated Florida Gulf Coast's Marina Diez at No. 3 singles 6-0, 6-0.

Carli Connors went three sets in her No. 2 singles match before falling 2-6, 6-3, 10-8. Connors also was in a close match with doubles partner Laura Horning at No. 1 doubles. The duo lost to Diez and Morgan Bechtel 8-7 (12-10).

SIUE's next action is the opening of Ohio Valley Conference play. The Cougars start with a March 17 match at Austin Peay.
