BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – Four SIUE runners cruised to personal bests Friday at the ISU Country Financial Cross Country Invitational.

Erin Kennedy, Haley Miller, Jess Clarke and Keri Burmester each set PRs in their second meet of the season.

As a team, SIUE finished seventh out of 10 teams. Northern Illinois won the event with 39 followed by Iowa (57), Illinois (66), Eastern Illinois (104), Illinois State (118), Loyola (174), SIUE (184), Illinois-Chicago (197), DePaul (248) and Western Illinois (277).

"The women started out in a tight pack again," said SIUE Assistant Coach Kayla Brown. "Our focus is to close gaps, and they are doing a great job executing our plan."

Kennedy was SIUE's top individual finisher in 19th place in a time of 18:25.00, which is less than a second better than her top time at the EIU Walt Crawford Open.

Miller was second for the Cougars in 24th place (18:31.05). She was followed by Clarke in 32nd place (18:42.25), Allie Sweatt in 60th place (19:27.50), Aly Goff in 61st place (19:28.58) and Burmester in 67th place (19:38.24).

The Cougars are now idle until its own meet Oct. 1 when SIUE plays host to the John Flamer Invitational at the SIUE Cross Country Course.
