Cougars fall to IPFW 76-72

         The Southern Illinois University Edwardsville women's basketball team snapped its three game winning streak this afternoon losing 76-72 to IUPU-Fort Wayne at the Vadalabene Center.
         The Cougars fall to 3-1 overall and 1-1 in the GLVC. The Cougars tallied 19 turnovers in the first half and went into halftime trailing by eight points. SIUE came back in the second half and went ahead by five points with six minutes left in the game but were unable to hang on.
         Misi Clark (Paris) led the team with 19 points, converting 9-of-10 from the line, and six assists. Clark extended her double figure-scoring streak to 71 consecutive games. Clark also finished with three steals, which moves her into second on the all-time steal list at SIUE with 263. Jessica Robert (Carlyle) added a career-high 18 points and five assists. Also finishing in double figures was Sarah Larson (Galesburg) with 14 points. Defensively, three Cougars finished with seven rebounds - Larson, Clark and Sarah Cook (Columbus, Ohio).
         Offensively, Trish Fleming led the Mastodons with 32 points. Fleming converted 12-of-16 from the field. Jamie Holderman finished with 12 points while Jessica Brock led the team with eight rebounds.
         The Cougars are next in action on Tuesday, December 5 when they travel to Lebanon, Ill. to take on McKendree. -siue-
