Southern Illinois University Edwardsville completed its three-game sweep of the MIAA on Saturday as the Cougars downed Missouri-Rolla 62-50 in Rolla, Mo.
Misi Clark, a senior from Paris, proved once again why she's a two-time All-American, reeling off 14 consecutive points in the second half and completing the game with a season-high 33 points. Clark also tied her season high with nine rebounds. She added five assists and five steals.
Crystal Gladson, a senior from Fairmount, was the only other Cougar in double figures scoring with 13.
SIUE was down 25-16 at halftime behind a poor shooting performance. The Cougars shot just 25 percent from the field (7-28) and 40 percent from the free throw line (2-5). SIUE also missed all seven of its three-point attempts in the first half.
The Cougars roared back in the second half with 46 points behind some improved shooting (12-25 for 48 percent).
Missouri-Rolla scored the same number of points (25) in each half. Jackie Kelble led the way with 16 points.
SIUE's next action is on the road on Thursday when the Cougars take on No. 1-ranked Northern Kentucky in Great Lakes Valley Conference play.
