SIUE Women Defeat Indianapolis 60-49

         The Southern Illinois University Edwardsville women's basketball won its second game of the conference season 60-49 over Indianapolis at the Vadalabene Center this evening.
         The Cougars improve to 6-4 overall and 2-3 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. SIUE shot 45.7 percent (21-46) from the field while Indianapolis shot 35.4 percent (17-48). The Cougars led 26-21 going into the half and are now 5-0 on the season when leading at the half. The Greyhounds are now 7-4 overall and 3-2 in the conference.
         Sophomore Megan Grizzle (Salem) finished with a solid performance, recording career highs with 13 points and nine rebounds. Grizzle converted 6-of-9 from the field in 28 minutes off the bench. The Cougars were led by senior Misi Clark's (Paris) 15 points, giving her 77 consecutive games of scoring in double figures. Clark also finished with five rebounds and four steals. Sophomore Sarah Larson (Galesburg) and freshman Jessica Robert (Carlyle) each contributed with nine points.
         Elizabeth Ramsey led the team with a double-double, finishing with 18 points and 17 boards. Ramsey was 50 percent (5-10) from the field while converting 8-of-12 from the free throw line. Emily Hammes also finished in double figures with 11 points and nine rebounds in 29 minutes off the bench.
         The Cougars return to conference action when they travel to Missouri-St. Louis on Wednesday for a 5:30 p.m. match up.
