LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. - Mesa State hit 68 percent of its shots in the second half and swept past Southern Illinois University Edwardsville 76-63 at the Disney Women's Basketball Classic.
         Mesa State improved to 8-0 with the victory. SIUE fell to 6-4.
         SIUE's Ruth Kipping powered the offense with 19 points. Jessica Robert added 17. The Cougars led at halftime 27-26, but a defensive game turned into a track meet for Mesa State.
         Mesa State outscored the Cougars 50-36 in the second half. Erin Packer led Mesa State off the bench with 16 points.
         SIUE is back in action Wednesday with a 9 a.m. game against Wheeling Jesuit.
