Cougars Win Tight Game Vs. UMSL

Box Score
February 10, 2001

EDWARDSVILLE - A streak is over, but the scoreboard still says victory.
Misi Clark, who had scored 10 or more points in 97 consecutive games, scored just eight, but Southern Illinois University Edwardsville defeated Missouri-St. Louis Saturday evening 55-52 at the Vadalabene Center.
Clark was not having a bad game by any stretch of the imagination. The senior point guard also had nine rebounds, seven assists and six steals, just a few extra stats away from a quadruple double.
The Cougars used a team-high 10 point from freshman Jessica Robert to hold off UMSL. SIUE also used some strong defense, holding Missouri-St. Louis to 36 percent shooting.
Christy Lane led UMSL off the bench with 11 points.
The Cougars improved to 16-5 overall and 11-4 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. UMSL falls to 12-9 and 8-7.
SIUE's next action is Tuesday at the Vadalabene Center as the Cougars play host to No. 19 Southern Indiana.
