No. 2 Southern Indiana Dominates 101-73

         (EDWARDSVILLE, Ill.) Marty Perry pumped in 23 points as the Cougars fell to the No. 2 team in the nation, Southern Indiana, 101-73 this evening in the Vadalabene Center.
         The Screaming Eagles led from the very beginning and entered the half with a 53-31 lead. SIUE falls to 6-16 overall and 3-13 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Southern Indiana improves to 21-1 overall and 15-1 in the conference. SIUE shot 43.7 percent (31-71) from the field while the Screaming Eagles were 56.8 percent (42-74) from the field.
         Nick Hartwig recorded a double double, finishing with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Garrett Thomas also finished in double figures with 15 points while recording five assists.
         For Southern Indiana, Derrick Lyons led the team with 24 points, converting 10 of 14 from the field. Also finishing in double figures was Marlowe Currie (23), Diond're Givens (19), LaJuan Christon (11) and Wes Attebury (10).
         SIUE returns to action on Thursday when the team travels to Lewis for a 7:45 p.m. contest.
