SIUE Softball Sweeps Northern Kentucky

         (EDWARDSVILLE, Ill.) The Cougars improved 4-0 in the conference after defeating Northern Kentucky in a doubleheader this afternoon at Cougar Field.
         SIUE, 15-7 overall, won game one by a score of 4-2 behind pitcher Dawn Farmer (Columbia). Farmer picked up her fifth win of the season, pitching seven innings. Mandy Uhrhan (Dupo) was 2-for-3 in the game with one run batted in.
         In game two, the Cougars broke open a 3-3 tie in the bottom of the fifth to win 5-4. SIUE and Northern Kentucky exchanged runs for the first three innings before Erin Newman (Fairfield, Calif.) doubled in the go-ahead runs. Missy Koenig (Mapleton) improved her record to 5-3 on the year.
