Josh Hickam (Granite City) scored twice to lead the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville men's soccer team past Wisconsin-Parkside 2-0 in a Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament semifinal game in Romeoville.
         Hickam got the Cougars on the board with a goal in the 31st minute. He later added an insurance goal in the 65th minute off a penalty kick.
         Cougar goalkeeper Matt Evers (Edwardsville) posted the shutout, making six saves.
         SIUE, 12-4-2, will now move to the GLVC championship game to face Southern Indiana. USI advanced over Lewis on penalty kicks earlier in the day. The two teams tied 1-1, but Southern Indiana defeated Lewis in penalty kicks 4-2.
         Both SIUE and USI will be without the services of their leading goal-scorers. Mike Ngonyani (Bloomington, Ind.) earned a red card in the 28th minute of Saturday's game, and USI's Greg Henry earned a red card in its game against Lewis. To comply with NCAA regulations, both players must sit their next game.
         Southern Indiana, 12-7-1, defeated SIUE in mid-October 1-0 at Korte Stadium. USI's John Havill scored the lone goal of the game. The teams will battle for the GLVC title tomorrow in Romeoville. Game time is slated for 12:30 p.m.
