Second-Half Run Keys Win Over UMSL

         Southern Illinois University Edwardsville used a 13-4 run to start the second half and powered past Missouri-St. Louis 64-50 in Great Lakes Valley Conference action Saturday night.
         Ruth Kipping led the offense for the Cougars (13-10, 11-6 GLVC) with 20 points. Amanda Buldtman pumped in 14 points and Kristen Boss added a season-high 10 points off the bench.
         It was the Cougars' defense which keyed the victory. UMSL (7-15, 4-12 GLVC) shot just 29 percent from the field (19-65) and was limited to 26 percent from three-point range. SIUE shot nearly 48 percent from the field.
         Christy Lane was the lone player in double figures for UMSL with 10 points.
         SIUE now is off until next Saturday when it plays host to Lewis in a 5:30 p.m. game at the Vadalabene Center.
