SIUE Wins St. Leo Tournament

At St. Leo (Fla.) Tournament

         TAMPA - Southern Illinois University Edwardsville swept host St. Leo, No. 12-ranked North Florida and No. 10-ranked Alabama-Huntsville on Sunday to take home the championship trophy at the St. Leo Tournament.
         SIUE, now 14-4 overall, defeated St. Leo 4-2, North Florida 6-3 and Alabama-Huntsville 6-5 in nine innings.
         The Cougars picked up a pair of wins from junior RyAnn Spann (Bethalto), who pitched the final 16 innings of the day. Missy Koenig (Mapleton) was SIUE's winning pitcher against St. Leo.
         SIUE now heads east to Orlando, Fla., for the Rebel Spring Games. SIUE faces Tiffin at 8:50 a.m. and Shippensburg at 12:30 p.m.
