EMPORIA, Kan. - With four players in double figures, Southern Illinois University Edwardsville handed Southeastern Oklahoma its third straight defeat with a 67-62 triumph.
         Tanya Guell (Plymouth, Wis.) led the Cougars, who improvd to 2-1, with a 17-point effort. Sarah Schweers added 15 points. Julianne McMillen (Pana) came off the bench for 12 points, and Sara Unterbrink (Madison, Mo.) scored 10.
         SIUE finished 1-1 at the Candlewood Suites Classic, hosted by Emporia State. West Texas A&M defeated SIUE on the opening night of the tournament 84-70.
         The Cougars managed a five-point lead at halftime after going up by as many as 13 in the first half.
         SIUE held off Southeastern Oklahoma's Monica Sanders and Jessica Hocker, who scored 20 and 17 points, respectively.
         The next action for SIUE is November 29 when the Cougars travel to Saint Joseph's to open the Great Lakes Valley Conference schedule. Tip-off time is 5:30 p.m. in Rensselaer, Ind.
