QUINCY - Despite a career-high 30 points from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville's Logan Glosser, Quincy University defeated the Cougars 76-69 in Great Lakes Valley Conference men's basketball on Thursday.
       SIUE's losing streak was extended to 10 games as its record falls to 7-17. Quincy improved to 12-13 overall.
       The Cougars and the Hawks both shot well in the first half. Quincy hit 55 percent of its shots while SIUE pumped in 65 percent of its shots. By halftime, the two teams were close with Quincy leading 41-39.
       Quincy used a 13-3 run in the middle of the second half to pull away from the Cougars. Glosser's 10-of-13 shooting, including five three-pointers, kept SIUE close.
       Ron Heflin nearly walked away with a double-double for the Cougars with 21 points and nine rebounds.
       Quincy picked up its offense from Jordan Roth, who did finish with a double-double with 23 points and 11 rebounds.
       SIUE's final regular season road game is set for Saturday with the Cougars at Missouri-St. Louis. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
