Connie Myers scored four seconds into the contest off the opening tip-off and Northern Kentucky never looked back as it handed Southern Illinois University Edwardsville its fifth-consecutive loss Saturday at the Vadalabene Center, 74-59.
         SIUE falls to 8-9 overall and 3-7 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. NKU improves to 11-4 overall and 6-3 in conference play.
         Myers scored a game-high 21 points for NKU and posted nine rebounds. NKU shot 53.7 percent from the field and was 3 for 3 from three-point range in the second half.
         SIUE could not find a rhythm offensively, hitting just 23 of 61 (37.7 percent) from the field. The Cougars were 4 of 20 from three-point range.
         Tanya Guell led the Cougars with 15 points. Jessica Robert finished with 13 points while Jenna Unangst chipped in 11, one point shy of her career high.
         SIUE now takes to the road for GLVC matchups at Kentucky Wesleyan and Southern Indiana.
