NORMANDY, Mo. - Jessica Robert hit a pair of three-pointers in the final 75 seconds as Southern Illinois University Edwardsville roared back for a 51-48 victory over Missouri-St. Louis in women's college basketball Friday night.
         With the final three-pointer, Robert became the 16th player in school hostory to record 1,000 points.
         SIUE improved to 8-4 overall and 3-2 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Missouri-St. Louis fell to 3-7 and 0-4 in the GLVC.
         The Cougars struggled from the field and were behind on the scoreboard for most of the game. SIUE shot a paltry 16 of 60 for the game.
         Amber Wisdom led the SIUE scoring with 12 points. Robert added 11.
         UMSL led by as much as 11 points with 6:26 to play in the second half. In the end, the Riverwomen were hurt by 26 turnovers. SIUE picked up 26 points off turnovers.
         SIUE took care of the ball with just 10 turnovers.
         The Cougars didn't panic down the stretch. The Cougars didn't score a field goal for more than nine minutes in the middle of the second half. Sarah Schweers keyed the comeback early with a pair of three-pointers.
         After a layup by Jenna Unangst at 2:35 and a free throw by UMSL, the Riverwomen led 48-44.
         Robert then took over the game with a shot from behind the arc at 1:15 and the eventual game winner with 26 seconds left. Robert stole the ball on the other end of the floor on UMSL's possession to seal the victory.
         The Riverwomen were powered by the inside game of Kali Birkey, who scored 14 points and grabbed a game-high 16 rebounds. Iesha Billups added 10 points for UMSL.
         SIUE now moves on to play at Quincy on Saturday. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
