OWENSBORO, Ky. - Despite coming back from 12 points down, the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville women's basketball lost its sixth straight in a 53-47 loss at Kentucky Wesleyan.
         The Cougars had a one-point lead with five minutes to play and tied Kentucky Wesleyan 47-47 with 1:21 to play on a jumper by Julianne McMillen. But the final 81 seconds of the game belonged to the Panthers, who broke a 13-game losing streak of their own.
         Rozalind Jones hit a pair of jumpers and Brandy Reynolds hit two free throws in the final minute to lift KWC, which picked up its first win in Great Lakes Valley Conference play in 10 games and improved its overall record to 3-13.
         SIUE, now 8-10 overall and 3-8 in the GLVC, managed just a three-point attempt and a turnover in the final minute of the game.
         The Cougars picked up 14 points from Tanya Guell and 11 points from Jessica Robert. Mackenzi Payne powered KWC with 16 points.
         SIUE now turns its focus on Southern Indiana for a 1 p.m. game on Saturday in Evansville, Ind.
