Cougars Win Battle of Ranked Teams

         KENOSHA, Wis. - Pete Cacciatore scored a pair of unassisted goals as 12th-ranked Southern Illinois University Edwardsville defeated 20th-ranked Wisconsin-Parkside 2-0 on Friday afternoon.
         The Cougars won their seventh straight game and 16th straight Great Lakes Valley Conference contest. SIUE's season record stands at 10-1 overall and 5-0 in the GLVC.
         Wisconsin-Parkside, which came into Friday's contest with the No. 1 defense in the country having given up one goal in its previous nine games, fell to 7-2-1 overall and 2-1-1 in the GLVC.
         Cacciatore and the Cougars had trouble scoring early but finally got the eventual game-winner at 65:11. He added an insurance goal with 30 seconds left in the game.
         SIUE Coach Ed Huneke and the Cougars now travel to Rensselaer, Ind., for a battle on Sunday with Saint Joseph's. First touch is noon.
