Southern Illinois University Edwardsville couldn't overcome two forfeits in a 33-13 home loss to Missouri Baptist on Friday.
         The Cougars, 0-1, picked up a pin from 184-pounder Cory Scott, who dispatched Mike VanOordt in 6:15. John Ficht won a major decision for the Cougars with a 13-5 victory over Jon Wilcox at 165 pounds. SIUE's 125-pounder Scott Audo also won 5-1 over Mike Aitch.
         Missouri Baptist's Adam Varner picked up the fastest pin of the evening with a fall at 2:39 over SIUE's Matt Warren. Missouri Baptist also picked up forfeits at 141 pounds and heavyweight.
         The Cougars now head to the Central Missouri State Open on Sunday for its first tournament action of the season.
