Southern Illinois University Edwardsville women's basketball team fell to Bradley 86-63 in exhibition action at Robertson Field House in Peoria, Ill. on Saturday afternoonn.
         Amy Austin and Lindy Carey each had 11 points to lead the way for SIUE. Carey was 3 for 4 from behind the arc as SIUE had a three point percentage of 60 percent. Austin chipped in five assists for the Cougars.
         The Braves outrebounded SIUE 36-24 in the game, and the Cougars committed 27 turnovers compared to Bradley's 20.
         SIUE shot 47.6 percent from the field and the Cougars were 17-23 from the free throw line for 73.6 percent. Tanya Guell and Sara Unterbrink each had eight points in the contest that saw SIUE trail 46-26 at the half.
         The Cougars had no answer for Bradley's center Dena Williams, who had 21 points and six rebounds. The Braves had a 52.2 field goal percentage in the game by making 15 more field goals and taking 25 more shots than the Cougars.
         SIUE will play their second exhibition game on Monday as they travel to Western Illinois for 7 p.m tip.
