Highland Heights, Ky. - Julianne McMillen netted 10 points as Southern Illinois University Edwardsville fell to Northern Kentucky 62-45 in Great Lakes Valley Conference women's basketball action on Saturday afternoon at Regents Hall.
         McMillen added five rebounds in the contest as the Cougars drop to 5-5 overall, 1-3 in the GLVC. The Norse improve to 3-5 overall, 3-3 in conference play.
         SIUE led by as many as eight in the first half shooting 52.2 percent from the field before Northern Kentucky took a 31-29 lead into halftime. The Cougars could only manage to shoot 23.8 (5-21) percent in the second half as Northern Kentucky outscored them 31-16.
         Whitney Skyes and Tanya Guell each had nine points, and Guell grabbed seven rebounds. Amber Wisdom notched eight points getting four steals. SIUE committed 19 turnovers to only six assists in the game.
         Connie Myers' double-double led the way for the Norse with 23 points and 13 boards. Northern Kentucky outrebounded SIUE 37-29.
         The Cougars will have the week off before traveling to Hawaii to face West Texas A&M and Harding on Dec. 19 and 20 in Honolulu.
