SIU Edwardsville used a collective effort in an 80-54 victory over Missouri-St. Louis Saturday in women's basketball action at the Vadalabene Center.
         With the win, SIUE moves to 11-15 overall and 6-13 in Great Lakes Valley Conference play. Sitting in eighth place in the conference standings, it is also assured a GLVC Tournament nod when the eight-team field is announced next Saturday. Missouri-St. Louis (6-19, 3-15 GLVC) was mathmatically eliminated from post-season contention with the loss.
         Four Cougars registered double-figures in points on the day, led by Jessica Robert's game-high 17. Tanya Guell contribued 15 for the Cougars, and Jamie Kennedy poured in a career-high 11. Amber Wisdom pumped in 10 which included two three-pointers in the first half.
         SIUE outrebounded Missouri-St. Louis 39-21 and was led by Julianne McMillen's 10 boards.
         Missouri-St. Louis was led by Iesha Billups' 14 points. Kali Birkey added 11 for the Riverwomen.
         SIUE will next be in action next Saturday in a home tilt with Lewis, the final regular season game for the SIUE. The Cougars are idle from GLVC play on Thursday.
