Tanya Guell's 11 points was not enough for SIU Edwardsville, who dropped a 68-45 decision to the Lewis Flyers Saturday at the Vadalabene Center in Great Lakes Valley Conference women's basketball action.
         The Cougars will look toward the upcoming GLVC Tournament in Evansville, Ind. They will enter as the eighth seed and will face Quincy Thursday at 8:30 p.m.
         SIUE (11-16, 6-14 GLVC) could not find its rhythm offensively, shooting a cold 30.6 percent from the floor.
         Meanwhile, Lewis netted 47 percent of its shots and took a 38-19 lead into halftime. But the Flyers continued to dominate inside, as it outscored SIUE 36-8 in the lane.
         Guell led SIUE with 11 points on 3-of-4 shooting. Kristen Boss chipped in eight points and added five blocks and four boards.
         Leading the way for Lewis was Tracy Buchholz' 14 points. Mary Moskal and Bryanne Callahan followed with 13 and 12, respectively.
         It was the final home contest for SIUE seniors Jessica Robert, Sarah Schweers, Jaque Howard and Boss.
