EDWARDSVILLE, ILL. - Indianapolis build a 24-point, first half lead and went on to an 80-69 win over Southern Illiniois University Edwardsville in Great Lakes Valley Conference women's basketball on Saturday afternoon.
         Tiffany Sproat netted a career-high 19 points, shooting 8 of 11 from the field for the Cougars. SIUE falls to 10-11 overall and 5-7 in the GLVC. Indianapolis improves to 14-5 overall and 7-5 in league play.
         The Greyhounds built a 43-19 lead with 4:24 to go in the first half. SIUE would go on 27-9 nine run the next 7:27 to cut it to seven-point Indianapolis lead. The Cougars were down by seven again with 6:43 to go, but the Greyhounds were too much down the strech gaining the victory.
         Julianne McMillen finished with 12 points grabbing eight rebounds. Jamie Kennedy chipped in 10 points and six rebounds off the bench. Lindy Carey added 10.
         Indianapolis' Sara Riedeman led all scorers with 23 points, hitting her first seven shots from beyond the three point arc. Guard Amanda Davidson recorded 11 assists and nine points. Amy Wisser added 21 points, and Eileen Patton and Amanda Norris each had 10.
         SIUE made 46.7 percent of its shots in the contest and 35.7 pecent (5-14) for behind the three-point line. The Greyhounds shot 53.3 percent (8-15) from three-point land and 50.9 percent (29-57) from the field.
         The Cougars start a four-game road swing next Thursday as they travel to play Wisconsin-Parkside at 5:30 p.m.
