SPRINGFIELD, MO. - Collins Harris scored 20 points as Drury held off Southern Illinois University Edwardsville 66-63 in men's Great Lakes Valley Conference basketball Saturday afternoon at Weiser Gym.
         SIUE had its record dropped to 4-3 overall and 1-2 in the GLVC as the Panthers improved to 6-2 overall and 3-1 in the GLVC.
         Drury led by 11 late in the first half and 34-26 at halftime. The Panthers escaped an SIUE rally in the second half that had SIUE leading midway through the second half.
         Mike Hardiek scored 14 points and added 10 rebounds in his first start as a Cougar. Ty Johnson led the SIUE scoring attack with 18 points, including four three-pointers.
         With SIUE leading 50-47 with 11:58 to play in the game, Drury reeled off a quick 9-2 run behind a pair of three-pointers from Harris and Tim Brown, taking the lead for good with eight minutes to play. SIUE pulled within two twice in the remaining minutes but couldn't regain the lead.
         SIUE is now idle until Dec. 20 when it faces Kentucky Wesleyan in a non-conference matchup at the Vadalabene Center. Tip-off time is 7:30 p.m.
