INDIANAPOLIS - Lindy Carey poured in 15 points off the bench to lead four Southern Illinois University Edwardsville players in double figures in a 67-62 victory over Saint Joseph's in women's Great Lakes Valley Conference basketball action.
         With the win, SIUE grabs the No. 8 seed in the GLVC tournament. SIUE held the tiebreaker over Kentucky Wesleyan, which finished play on Thursday with an identical 7-13 mark in the GLVC. SIUE, 12-17 overall, is slated to play top-seeded Quincy in the first round of the GLVC Tournament on Friday at Roberts Stadium in Evansville, Ind.
         The Cougars started out strong, taking a 12-point lead with 6:29 to play in the first half. Saint Joseph's came back to just a two-point SIUE lead by halftime.
         SIUE held the lead for all of the second half except when Rachel Theodore scored a bucket at the 19:39 mark of the second half.
         Carey's 15 points included 3 of 3 from three-point range. Alisa Carillo added 11 points and four blocks. Tiffany Sproat had 11, and Whitney Sykes chipped in 10 points.
         Courtney Rosenbaum powered the Puma attck with 22 points and 10 rebounds.
