         SPRINGFIELD, MO. - Southern Illinois University Edwardsville men's soccer coach Ed Huneke passed a coaching legend with a 3-2 win over Drury on Friday night.
         The victory gave Huneke his 217th career win, passing Hall of Famer Bob Guelker for the most wins as the SIUE soccer coach.
         Huneke, who played for Guelker from 1968-70, has a mark of 217-145-26 in 20 seasons as the Cougars head coach.
         Guelker notched a 216-67-21 record in his 19 years at SIUE.
         The second-ranked Cougars improved to 8-1-1 overall mark and are in first place in the Great Lakes Valley Conference with a 4-0-1 record.
         SIUE jumped on the Panthers early as Ross Beveridge scored his fourth goal of the year just 1:27 into the contest.
         Drury tied the game in the 16th minute on a 50-yard blast by Scott Deal.
         Then Cougars foward Mike Banner took over scoring two goals in a span of 8:10 to give SIUE a 3-1 lead at the half.
         The Panthers threw everything they had at the Cougars in the second half, but SIUE would prevail.
         SIUE out shot Drury 10-8 in the contest.
         SIUE will be in Kansas City to battle 13th-ranked Rockhurst on Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
