EVANSVILLE, IND. -- Keisha Collins hit the game-winning shot with 3.9 seconds left as Southern Indiana defeated Southern Illinois University Edwardsville 70-69 in women's college basketball at PAC Arena.
         Collins scored USI's final four points of the ballgame in the last 32 seconds. SIUE had led 69-66 on a pair of free throws by Whitney Sykes with 32 seconds left.
         With the loss, SIUE drops to 7-8 overall and 1-6 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Southern Indiana improved to 11-8 and 3-5 in the GLVC.
         The Cougars lost despite a 55 percent shooting effort, including 68.4 percent in the second half (13 of 19). SIUE, however, was hampered by 24 turnovers and took 23 less shots than the Screaming Eagles.
         Sykes led the Cougars in scoring with 17 points, including three three-pointers. Amy Austin added 15 points. Alisa Carrillo recorded 13 points off the bench, and Julianne McMillen scored 12.
         Ashley Green powered the offense for Southern Indiana with 18 points. Collins added 14 while Katie Thiesenhusen and Sarah Buldtman scored 11 points each.
         SIUE now returns home Thursday for a matchup against Missouri-St. Louis at the Vadalabene Center. Tip-off time is 5:30 p.m.
