Cougars Cruise to 11th Straight Win

         KENOSHA, WIS. -- Southern Illinois University Edwardsville men's basketball used a 20-0 run in the first half as it rolled over UW-Parkside 81-56 on Saturday.
         It was SIUE's Great Lakes Valley Conference-leading 11th consecutive victory. The Cougars now stand 15-3 overall and 9-2 in the GLVC.
         SIUE shot an impressive 62.5 percent (35-56) from the field and 56.3 percent from three-point range.
         Ryan Belcher led all scorers with 20 points and added seven rebounds and seven assists. J.B. Jones pumped in 16 points while Ty Johnson and Mike Hardiek added 14 and 10 points, respectively.
         The Cougars left little doubt in the first half of which team was in control. With a 23-20 lead with 8:41 to play in the half, SIUE's defense held the Rangers without a point over the next six minutes. UWP was 0-9 from the field and missed a free throw until LaVontay Fenderson hit a three-pointer with 1:40 left.
         SIUE's offense also was steady in each half, shooting 61 percent in the first half and 64 percent in the second half.
         Kyle Clark led the Rangers with 17 points.
         The Cougars go for its 12th straight win on Thursday when they entertain Northern Kentucky at 7:30 p.m.
