EDWARDSVILLE, ILL. - Senior day for Southern Illinois University Edwardsville men's soccer could not have gone any better.
         SIUE overpowered visiting Saint Joseph's 7-0 with a blistering offensive assault. SIUE outshot the Pumas 27-4 as 14 different players took a shot for the Cougars.
         Freshman Kevin Bielicki scored SIUE's first two goals at 3:17 and 21:21.
         SIUE improved to 9-3-3 overall and 9-2-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference, winning its sixth straight game. With the win, SIUE took sole possession of first place in the GLVC standings. Saint Joseph's fell to 1-11-3 and 0-8-2 in the GLVC.
         Ross Beveridge scored a pair of goals, one in each half.
         Bob Ridder made the score 4-0 at 28:43 on an assist by Victor Pacheco. It was Pacheco's 29th career assist, tying the SIUE career mark set by John Carenza.
         Senior Chris Johnson also made his mark. Despite missing a first-half penalty kick, Johnson connected on an unassisted goal at 41:53. It was his first career goal.
         John Anzalone also picked up his first career goal with a score in the second half.
         SIUE closes out the GLVC regular season Wednesday at Missouri-Rolla. SIUE can guarantee itself the No. 1 seed for the GLVC Tournament with a win over Missouri-Rolla. Game time is 7 p.m. in Rolla, Mo.
