EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. - The Southern Illinois University Edwardsville women's basketball team made quick work of Fontbonne University in its 86-50 win Saturday at the Vadalabene Center.
         SIUE outrebounded Fontbonne 51-33 led by Becky Tenholder's 12 rebounds.
         SIUE's Amber Shelton and Whitney Sykes lead the team in scoring 16 points each.
         Three other Cougars were in double figures, including Julianne McMillen with 13, Elyse Morris with 12 and Julie Sweetin with 10.
         The Cougars strong play defensively included three players with four steals each including Shelton, McMillen and Allison Fogle. Morris also led the Cougars in assists with 9. SIUE forced 31 Fontbonne turnovers.
         Fontbonne was lead by Heather McAllister who had 10 points and five rebounds.
         SIUE's next game is scheduled for Wednesday at home versus Robert Morris with a scheduled tip-off of 5:30 p.m.
