Illini Top SIUE 76-57

         CHAMPAIGN, ILL. -- Illinois shot 68 percent from the field in the second half and defeated Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in a men's college basketball exhibition Wednesday.
         A crowd of 16,618 watched the home Fighting Illini turned in a strong performance in holding SIUE to 38.9 percent shooting.
         Ty Johnson led SIUE with 13 points while sophomore Nick Arth added 10.
         Warren Carter shot 7 of 11 from the field and led the Illini with 17 points and six rebounds.
         The Cougars play a final exhibition game Saturday at Nebraska. Game time is 7 p.m. in Lincoln, Neb.
