Cougars Sweep CMSU

         WARRENSBURG, MO - Fifth-ranked Southern Illinois University Edwardsville picked up two more road victories Wednesday with a sweep at Central Missouri State.
         SIUE, 33-5, downed the Jennies 7-1 and 6-5.
         The Cougars peppered Jennies hurler Meredith Muenks for 15 hits in game one. SIUE's Sabra McCune led all Cougars with four hits while Alicia DeShasier added three.
         McCune went the distance to improve her season record to 18-4. CMSU shortstop Rachel Adams hit a second-inning home run for the Jennies' lone tally.
         In the nightcap, Kaitlin Colosimo ran her record to 10-0.
         All of the scoring for both teams was in the first four innings. Amy Rogers hit her first home run of the season, a third-inning solo blast that proved to be the winning run.
         SIUE now returns to Cougar Field for a doubleheader on Friday against Lewis, which is just one-game behind the Cougars in the race for the top seed for the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament. The first pitch is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. The Cougars face UW-Parkside at home on Saturday at noon.
