         EDWARDSVILLE, Ill.- Southern Illinois University Edwardsville made senior night special Saturday with a 92-63 thrashing over Missouri-St. Louis.
         SIUE ends the season with a 15-12 record overall and a 10-9 mark in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.
         Seniors Mike Hardiek, Ty Johnson and Clint Burris each had a strong showing while playing their last SIUE basketball game.
         Hardiek netted 21 points on the night while shooting 9-11 from the field. Johnson put up 13 points along with six assists while Burris came off the bench to score five.
         J.B. Jones also had an impressive showing, racking up a career-high 13 assists to go along with his nine points, three steals and two blocks.
         Also coming up big for the Cougars was Nick Arth, who tied Hardiek with a game high of 21 points.
         As a team, the Cougars shot 60.7 percent from the field and 50 percent from three-point range.
         UMSL, which ended the season with a 9-18 overall record and a 4-15 mark in GLVC play, was led by Troy Slaten's 18 points and Nathan Whittaker's 11 points.
         At the end of the game, SIUE men's basketball coach Marty Simmons along with the seniors thanked the SIUE fans for all of their support during the season.
