SPRINGFIELD, MO. -- Hannah Carter connected on a three-pointer with one second left as Drury defeated Southern Illinois University Edwardsville 70-67 in women's college basketball.
         Carter, who led the Panther with seven rebounds, made just one shot in the game.
         Drury improved to 16-6 overall and 10-4 in the GLVC while SIUE dropped to 16-6 overall and 9-5 in the GLVC. Drury now holds first place in the GLVC West Division.
         SIUE's Amber Shelton scored 17 for the Cougars, including 15 in the first half. The Cougars were up by as many as 13 points in the first half and led by seven at halftime.
         Becky Flippin led the offense for Drury with 16 points and five assists. Molly Carter scored 14 while Lauren Gregory and Caitlin Shouse added 12 points each.
         SIUE's Amy Austin poured in 15 points behind three three-pointers. Allison Fogle contributed 14 behind four three-pointers.
         The Cougars now head to Rockhurst for a 1 p.m. game Saturday in Kansas City, Mo.
