ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - Drury opened with a 17-5 lead at the start and eliminated Southern Illinois University Edwardsville from the NCAA Championships with a 76-61 victory at Neil Carey Arena.

The Cougars completed the season with a 20-9 record under Head Coach Wendy Hedberg. Drury improved to 23-8.

Shelton, who earned All-Region honors, led SIUE with 19 points, Whitney Sykes and Julianne McMillen added 10 points each.

Becky Flippin led three Panthers in double figures with 18 points. Molly Carter scored 15 while Greta Wiersch added 13.

Drury used 10 three-pointers to push past the Cougars.

SIUE's action was in the paint with a 38-28 advantage.
