SIUE Sweeps Rockhurst 6-1, 9-0

         KANSAS CITY, MO. -- The No. 10-ranked Southern Illinois University Edwardsville softball team swept Rockhurst University 6-1 and 9-0 Saturday.
         The two wins improved SIUE's record to 32-7 overall and 14-4 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference while Rockhurst fell to 11-22 overall and 4-16 in the GLVC.
         In the first game, SIUE's Ashley Price came up big hitting 2-for-4 with a grand slam in the top of the seventh. Jodie Ohlau was also strong at the plate hitting 3-for-4 with a solo home run and two runs scored.
         Sabra McCune picked up the win improving her record to 11-5. Rockhurst hurler Heather Robertson picked up the loss and dropped to 10-8 on the season.
         The second game only lasted five innings as SIUE scored three runs in each of the third, fourth and fifth innings for the win.
         Lauren Zembruski hit her first home run of the season, a two-run blast in the fourth inning. Ohlau continued her success at the plate, hitting 1 for 3 with an RBI and two runs scored.
         Kaitlin Colosimo improved her pitching record to a GLVC-best 18-2 with the five-inning shutout. Rockhurst pitcher Erica Stone fell to 1-7.
         The Cougars will continue their road trip Sunday in a doubleheader at Missouri-Rolla at noon.
