No. 2 NKU Defeats No. 15 SIUE on Penalty Kick

          HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, KY. - Braden Bishop scored on a penalty kick in the second overtime period as No. 2-ranked Northern Kentucky defeated No. 15 Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in men's college soccer action Friday.
          Northern Kentucky won its 11th straight game of the year, extending its Great Lakes Valley Conference record to 6-0. It was the first GLVC loss of the season for the Cougars, which are now 5-2-1 overall and 5-1-1 in league play.
          SIUE was pounded hard by the NKU offense. NKU outshot SIUE 18-5 in the game and held SIUE without a shot in the first period.
          Benny Jeffery had two shots for the Cougars. Tim Lindsay, Myles Hensler and Patrick Brazill provided the only other shots for the Cougars.
          It took an SIUE foul in the box during the second overtime period to put the game in peril. Bishop, the GLVC's Freshman of the Year last season, scored his eighth goal of the season past SIUE goalkeeper Greg Crook, who collected five saves.
          SIUE must now rebound to face Bellarmine Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in Louisville, Ky.
