Cougars See Positives at UCM Jamboree

         WARRENSBURG, Mo. -- Southern Illinois University Edwardsville's wrestling record fell to 1-6, but the Cougars were able to find some positives out of Saturday's three dual meets.
         SIUE opened with a 48-0 loss to No. 1-ranked Minnesota State. The 17th-ranked team in the nation, Chadron State, defeated the Cougars 38-13. SIUE dropped a 30-19 decision to Northern State.
         Tommy Hill (Roxana) recorded a pair of pins, defeating Chadron State's Ryan Zavala in 4 minutes, 8 seconds and Rick Schiley in 5:45.
         Eric Pretto (Orland Park), the No. 7-ranked wrestler in the country, rebounded from a early 6-1 loss to Minnesota State's Jason Rhoten to collect decisions over Chadron State's J.D. Thrall and Northern State's Dustin Bohn.
         Nick Shumate (Overland Park, Kan.), Dan Midgett (Flat Rock) and Brian Brooks (Homewood) also collected a win in the three meets.
         Next up for the Cougars is a dual match at McKendree. The opening whistle is at 7 p.m.
