EVANSVILLE, Ind. - Southern Illinois University Edwardsville runners Kyle Cameron and Kayla Brown each led their teams at the final meet of the 2008 cross country season.
The SIUE men placed 10th in a field of 22 teams at the Evansville Invitational. The SIUE women took 11th in a field of 19 teams.
Cameron placed 16th as an individual with an 8,000-meter time of 25 minutes, 10.16 seconds. Marc Amarillas followed with a 67th place finish in 26:16.65. The rest of the Cougar lineup included Shawn Dilliard (26:38.34), Ryan Wessling (26:55.02), and Sean Gosewich (27:44.99).
On the women's side, Brown turned in a fifth place finish in 17:50.89. Maggie Krall broke the 19 minute barrier at 18:59.53. She was followed by Kelly Flounders (19:30.22), Aftan Noon (20:22.99), Heather Hackel (20:32.70), Stacey Briggs (20:52.29), and Stephanie Briggs (21:17.21).
SIU Carbondale won both the men's and the women's races.
