Austin Peay Takes Down Cougars

         CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. -- Austin Peay took advantage of 29 Southern Illinois University Edwardsville turnovers Saturday in a 74-52 women's college basketball triumph.
         The Cougars fell to 1-10 with the loss while the Lady Governors improved to 4-5.
         SIUE Coach Amanda Levens agreed her team needs to cut down on turnovers. Austin Peay scored 28 points off SIUE's turnovers.
         "We didn't take care of the basketball tonight," said Levens.
         Austin Peay also fared better on the free throw line. The Lady Governors hit 17 of 19 from the line. The includes 10 of 10 from the line by Whitney Hanley, who led all scorers with 21 points. The Cougars hit 15 of 25 from the free throw line.
         "We struggled at the free throw line," said Levens. "If we had made free throws, we would have been in the game."
         Levens found a positive refrain in the play of Jenny Wuest, who led SIUE in scoring with 15 points.
         "Jenny Wuest played well tonight down low; it is good to have her back in double figures," said Levens.
         SIUE is now idle until Thursday when it travels to Peoria to face the Braves in a 7:05 p.m. start.
