The Cougars picked up 25 points off the bench with Duncan's 13 along with eight from Sydney Winslow, two from Kate Affourtit and the first two points of the season from Jenny Gilman.
SIUE Coach Amanda Levens said the Cougars played solid defense in the first half but were hampered by turnovers.
"Obviously, we struggled to score in both halves. And we need to cut down on the turnovers," said Levens.
ULM forced 35 turnovers and held the Cougars to 28.1 percent shooting from the field.
Sumar Leslie and Elizabeth Torres each scored 12 points for Louisiana-Monroe.
