Cougars Collect Win No. 1

          EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. - Millikin turned the tables on Southern Illinois University Edwardsville Thursday in a 70-59 victory over the Cougars.
          SIUE, 2-6, held as much as a 12-point lead in the second half. The Big Blue improved to 6-0 after hitting 57 percent of its shots in the second half in pushing past the Cougars.
          SIUE Coach Lennox Forrester said the Cougars can't take teams too lightly.
          "We played as a team in the first half. In the second half, we didn't play as a team," said Forrester.
          Justin Thompson finished with a game-high 24 points off the bench for Millikin. He shot 7 of 10 from the field, including 4 of 4 from three-point range. Tunde Ogunleye added 13 for Millikin.
          Mark Yelovich pumped in 19 points for SIUE. Aaron Garriott added 10.
          SIUE led at halftime 33-24 and held Millikin shooting to 35 percent in the first half. The Big Blue found their rhythm in the second half using a 12-2 run to tie the score at 41-41 with 12:07 to play.
          Justin Thompson's three-pointer with 10:22 to play gave Millikin its first lead of the second half.
          "Our defensive intensity fell allowing them to get into the ball game," said Forrester.
