Cougars Run Win Streak to Seven

         EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. -- Southern Illinois University Edwardsville women's tennis continued its winning streak, extending it to seven matches Tuesday with an 8-1 victory over Southern Indiana at the SIUE Tennis Courts.
         The Cougars jumped on top early by sweeping the doubles matches. Ali Wulfers and Amanda Neibur defeated Katie Jo Clagg and Jennie LaBonte 8-1 in No. 2 doubles.
         SIUE's singles play continued to be strong. SIUE's Stephanie Clark won her No. 6 singles match 6-1, 6-0 over Mary Johnson. Wulfers added a 6-0, 6-1 win over USI's LaBonte at No. 3 singles. In its five singles wins, the Cougars won all of the matches in straight sets.
         USI gained its only point of the match at No. 2 singles when Laura Horning retired in the second set of her match with Clagg.
         The Cougars return to the court Friday to face off against Kentucky Wesleyan in a GLVC match at 2 p.m.
