         EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. -- Southern Illinois University Edwardsville forced 32 Robert Morris turnovers Wednesday in a 63-38 rout at the Vadalabene Center.
         The win broke SIUE's 16-game losing streak. The Cougars now stand 2-16. Robert Morris dropped to 14-6.
         "I was happy for our team to have success tonight," said SIUE Coach Amanda Levens. "I hope this game helps build our confidence."
         The Cougars held Robert Morris to 23.3 percent shooting and won the battle of the boards 52-44.
         Jessie Stapleton led all scorers with 14 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. It was the ninth career double-double for the senior from Chillicothe.
         "Stapleton did a nice job of getting shots inside," noted Levens. Stapleton shot 4 of 8 from the field and converted 6 of 8 from the free throw line.
         SIUE also picked up a season best from Sydney Winslow. The sophomore center from Farmington, Mo., tossed in 12 points, doubling her previous career high.
         "Sydney played a career game tonight," Levens said.
         Melia Duncan added 12 points off the bench for the Cougars, which shot 31.3 percent as a team from the field.
         Lindsay Rogers powered Robert Morris with 11 points, including three three-pointers.
         SIUE is now idle until Monday when it plays host to Eastern Kentucky. Game time is 5 p.m. against the future Ohio Valley Conference opponent.
