Cougars Win Dual Opener

         EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. - Southern Illinois University Edwardsville opened the dual meet season with a 36-27 victory over Rend Lake in college wrestling action at the Vadalabene Center.
         Dillon Pousson (Round Lake) led the Cougars with a second-period pin over Rend Lake's Eric Ellington at 141 pounds. Derrick Pousson (Round Lake) and Blake Reed (Granite City) also were winners for SIUE.
         SIUE coach David Ray said he was pleased with his team's performance.
         "We started slow but as the matches went on our guys stayed aggressive," Ray said.
         SIUE is next in action Saturday in a quadrangular meet with Missouri Baptist, Indianapolis and Northern Illinois. The first match begins at 2 p.m.
