UND Wraps Up Cougars 82-66

         GRAND FORKS, N.D.- North Dakota used four players in double figures in a 82-66 victory over Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in women's college basketball action.
         The Cougars, 5-20, return to action for the second game of the road trip against the South Dakota in Vermillion, S.D., Saturday. The tip is set for 6 p.m.
         North Dakota shot 33-65 (50.8 percent) for the game to SIUE's 23-67 (34.3 percent) from the field.
         "We had some breakdowns in the first half on defense." said SIUE Coach Amanda Levens. "We gave them good looks, and North Dakota took advantage."
         The Fighting Sioux, 14-11, were led by Mallory Youngblut with 21 points. Youngblut also set a new career high with 15 rebounds. Kierah Kimbrough added 18 points. Kayla Bagaason pumped in 17 while Jossy Bergan scored 14 for the Fighting Sioux.
         SIUE finished with three players in double figures, led by Sydney Winslow with 12 points. Jenny Wuest and Ashley Bey put in 11 points apiece. Wuest led the Cougars with nine rebounds in the losing effort.
         North Dakota raced to a 35-19 by halftime, shooting 16-33 (48.5 percent) from the field compared to SIUE only shooting 8-31 (25.8 percent).
         "We just gave up too many points shot close to the basket." Levens said. "In the second half, we did a better job of getting in front and contesting shots."
         SIUE used the offensive boards effectively and outscored the Fighting Sioux in second-chance points 22-5 for the game. SIUE's bench also was deeper with a 23-12 advantage.
